Landscape Fans: Art Meets History and Science

I love to see how much can be covered in one lesson and the students still grasp it all. In this lesson we cover the history of the Silk Road, the cycle of the Bombyx Mori (silk worm moth), and Chinese calligraphy.

Egyptian Cartouche and Shrinky Dinks

Students used Egyptian hieroglyphs to design a tiny cartouche with their name or initials. I think I had as much fun as they did watching them shrink in our polymer clay oven.
